This makes sense.
“The Good Wife” alum Josh Charles has checked into “Masters of Sex,” where he will play a self-made businessman attempting to bottle the smell of sex. A charismatic salesman, Charles’ character of Daniel Logan has a seasonlong arc for the new season of the Showtime drama — one that will complicate things for Michael Sheen’s William Masters and Lizzy Caplan’s Virginia Johnson as he tries to market his aphrodisiac to the general public.
Charles received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his role in “The Good Wife,” a drama he departed last year. He also recently appeared in “Bird People,” the Cannes entry that Variety chief film critic Justin Chang named one of his top films of 2014. He’ll soon be seen in Netflix’s “Wet Hot American Summer” series.
“Masters of Sex” was developed for television by Michelle Ashford. She exec produces along with Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Amy Lippman, Dave Flebotte and Judith Verno. Sheen, Tammy Rosen and Thomas Maier serve as producers. It is produced by Sony Pictures Television.
Season three premieres at 10 p.m. on July 12.
