Marc Maron Set for Comedy Special on Epix

Epix has set a Dec. 4 premiere date for Marc Maron’s comedy special “Marc Maron: More Later” — marking the “WTF” podcast host’s first premium TV stand-up event in 20 years.

The special was filmed earlier this summer at the Vic Theatre in Chicago and features Maron’s take on everything from religion and relationships to rage, Skype sex and ice cream. Maron wrote and produced the special, which is directed by Bobcat Goldthwait.

“I’m really excited about this special,” said Maron. “The Vic is an amazing theater and the crowd in Chicago was amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever been funnier and I should know.”

Maron joins a growing list of comics who have partnered with Epix on these events. Jim Norton, Jim Breuer and Lisa Lampanelli have also had Epix specials air this year.

“Marc’s edgy, smart approach to comedy is admired not only by his peers, but by fans worldwide,” said Epix president and CEO Mark S. Greenberg. “This has been a banner year for Epix comedy specials, and we are honored to continue presenting our viewers with the best stand-up comedy acts performing today, uncut and uncensored.”

“Marc Maron: More Later” is an Epix original comedy event produced by Avalon Television. Executive producers are Maron, Olivia Wingate and David Martin. Dan Lubetkin is the co-executive producer and Whitney Berry is the producer. The executive producer for Epix is Ross Bernard and Valerie Bishop is the production manager for Epix.

“Marc Maron: More Later” will air at 10 p.m. Dec. 4 on Epix.
