‘Scream Queens’: Hester’s Makeover Revealed, Lea Michele Teases ‘Screwy Love Triangle’

SPOILER ALERT: Do not read unless you’ve watched the Sept. 29 episode of “Scream Queens.” Photo below of Lea Michele’s “Scream Queens” makeover.

Goodbye neck brace, hello Chanel!

On tonight’s “Scream Queens,” Lea Michele’s Hester finally got to shed her uncomfortable neck gear and questionably unfashionable wardrobe, and joined her sorority sisters in the high-end world of haute couture.

Before the episode aired, Michele told Variety she was excited about the makeover, but just as thrilled to learn her character, Hester, was still going to be a bit of an oddball.

“Once I started talking to (creator) Ryan (Murphy) about Hester, he let it slip that she’s going to get a makeover and she’s going to be the craziest of them all,” she said. “That was like music to my ears. What I love more than anything is that it’s not that she gets a makeover, but that she’s still as weird. Here’s this girl who goes from wearing a neckbrace and being a complete misfit and outcast, but she’s still herself. She gets more weird and mysterious and crazy as the season goes on. This is the same girl — just in Chanel clothes!”

Michele said she was enjoying getting to share scenes with the Chanels, played by Emma Roberts, Abigail Breslin and Billie Lourd.

“I’m a cool kid! I’ve never been one of the cool kids before,” Michele said. “I have this awesome storyline with Glen Powell who is Emma’s boyfriend, Chad. It’s this very screwy love triangle. Hester’s a little obsessed with him. I get the scripts, and I’m like, I can’t believe I’m going to say this!”

Live-tweeting while the east coast episode aired, Michele also tweeted a photo of her revamped character, “Chanel #6.”
