Dann Florek Returning to ‘Law & Order: SVU’ for One Episode

“Law & Order: SVU” is bringing back two familiar faces — Dann Florek and Andre Braugher.

Both actors will return for one guest star shot in the same episode, Variety has confirmed.

“Law & Order” vet Florek made his departure from “SVU” during the 15th season, after spending 14 years as Captain Cragen on the procedural since its start in 1999. Before “SVU,” he starred in the same role on the original flagship for the first three seasons, making guest appearances throughout the series.

Braugher, currently co-starring opposite Andy Samberg on Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” has recurred five times on “SVU,” and also made one guest appearance on “Law & Order,” at the start of his career.

On the upcoming episode, Florek will reprise his role as the now-retired Cragen, TV Guide first reported, to help the squad reopen a rape case, which Braugher’s attorney character is working on.

Florek and Braugher’s episode airs this May.
