Production has began on two ABC Family comedy pilots, “Kevin at Work” and “Tough Cookie,” the cabler announced Friday.

ABC Family also revealed the casts of the single-cam series, which are both shooting in Los Angeles.

Noah Reid (“Backpackers”) will lead workplace comedy “Kevin at Work” as the title character. Reid is joined by newcomer Paige Spara, Matt Murray (“Rookie Blue”), Jordan Hinson (“Eureka”) and Punam Patel who comes from Second City Chicago. Amy Sedaris will guest star.

The half-hour series follows a young man (Reid) who professes his love to a co-worker before accepting another job, only to find that his offer has been rescinded. Barbie Adler (“How I Met Your Mother”) penned the pilot and will exec produce with Aaron Kaplan (“Chasing Life,” “The Mysteries of Laura,” “Secrets & Lies”) and McG (“Charlie’s Angels,” “The O.C.”), who will direct the pilot.

“Tough Cookie,” from “Awkward” creator Lauren Iungerich, follows a young mother (Shoshana Bush) who’s not ready to parent her daughter (newcomer Mallory James Mahoney), but doesn’t want to be parented herself. The 30-minute laffer also stars Frankie Shaw (“Mixology”), Arturo Del Puerto (“The Lottery,” “Chicago P.D.”), Rick Gonzalez (“Rush,” “Coach Carter”) and Jimmy Bellinger (“Liv and Maddie”). Iungerich will also direct the pilot and exec produce with David Janollari (“Six Feet Under”).
