Watch: Jimmy Fallon Spoofs ‘Empire’ with Help from Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson and Donald Trump

Even Jimmy Fallon isn’t immune to “Empire” fever — the “Tonight Show” host celebrated the Sept. 23 return of the record-breaking Fox drama with a new digital original spoof, “Jimpire,” which saw the late-night host channeling Terrence Howard in an impression that was half Lucious Lyon and half Tony Stark.

In the parody, Fallon plays Juicy Jim, who is debating which of his minions is fit to take over his “Tonight Show” Jimpire, should the worst happen to him. “I might not be around forever, what with my finger being in the condition it’s in…” he laments, trying to decide between Questlove, Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter or Dion Flynn (aka Andre) to succeed him as host. But naturally, there’s another fur-wearing, insult-slinging figure who wants to get their hands on the Jimpire — Higgy (Steve Higgins) — who believes he’s entitled to half of Juicy’s kingdom.

The short manages to cram in references to memorable “Empire” song “Drip Drop,” Boo Boo Kitty and Andre’s bipolar disorder, as well as weighing in on the presidential debate and squeezing in some memorable cameos from “Empire” stars Howard and Taraji P. Henson — along with current pop culture lightning rod Donald Trump.

Watch “Jimpire” below.

“Empire” season two premieres Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. on Fox. “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
