Jeffrey Dean Morgan Cast as Series Regular in ‘Extant’ Alongside Halle Berry

Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast as a series regular in the second season of “Extant,” CBS announced Thursday.

The thriller from Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and CBS Television Studios stars Halle Berry as Molly Woods, an astronaut who unknowingly puts the human race on a path to destruction and discovers that she and a mysterious stranger may be the only hope for survival.

Morgan will play JD Richter, a “cop of the future” and bounty hunter, described as a reckless, hard-drinking womanizer whose life changes when he meets Molly.

Morgan, best known for his roles on “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Magic City,” will also star in History’s upcoming miniseries “Texas Rising.”
