CBS has tapped veteran comedy director James Burrows to direct the pilot for “The Half of It,” Variety has learned.

One of the most sought-after sitcom helmers, Burrows directed the pilots for “The Big Bang Theory,” “Friends,” “Frasier,” “Two and a Half Men,” “Mike & Molly” and “2 Broke Girls,” among others.

“The Half of It,” from writer and exec producer Mike Gibbons — who is also head writer and co-exec producer of CBS’ upcoming “Late Late Show with James Corden” — follows a newly divorced dad who revels in the fact that he now gets to keep half of his stuff, which is more than he ever had when he was married.

Christine Ko is set to star in the multicam CBS TV Studios sitcom as Suzi, a fun-loving twentysomething hipster and whiz kid.

The project marks Burrows’ third pilot this season, and the second with CBS. He’s set to direct the Eye’s “Joe Time,” starring Duane Martin and Eric Petersen, plus the Untitled Suzanne Martin project, which recently cast Nickelodeon starlet Miranda Cosgrove, for NBC.
