“You’re here because I let you be here,” Davis’ Annalise Keating tells her students in the new preview. “So do your work or get the hell out of my house.”
This is said seconds before new cast addition Famke Janssen makes what seems to be her first appearance on the show, playing a brilliant defense attorney who takes her job very seriously.
In Variety‘s cover story interview with Davis following her Emmy win — which earned her a spot in the record books as the first black woman to win for lead actress in a drama series — the actress talked about what she responded to in her character.
“It’s given me a way to show womanhood and a leading lady in a different way — and given me a place to shine — than I had in film,” Davis said.
For those who aren’t caught up on the show, Netflix has secured worldwide rights to the first season, but you’d better get to binging — “How to Get Away with Murder” begins its second season Thursday, Sept. 24 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
