The appointment marks a return to Fox for Cook, who headed the studio’s syndication arm for nearly a decade before exiting in 2010. In recent years he’s run the TV consulting business MBN.
Earlier in his career, Cook was a top exec for CBS’ syndie arm and at Columbia TriStar TV.
“We know that his experience and passion for the business will ensure the success of these important television stations,” said Jack Abernethy, CEO of Fox Television Stations. Cook succeeds Kevin Hale, who announced his retirement in February.
Said Cook: “I relish this moment in time to help further the growth process of these stations’ market influence and prominence.”
Fox Television Stations consists of 28 stations in 17 markets covering 37% of U.S. television households.
