AMC has debuted the first part of “Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462” to sate fans’ appetites after the zombie show’s season one finale. The 16-part webseries will be available online as well as airing during commercial breaks for “The Walking Dead” season six, which premiered Oct. 11 on the cable network. Each episode will be around one minute in length.
The series will take place over the course of one flight, and is set during the same period as “Fear the Walking Dead,” exploring the initial outbreak of the virus that decimates humanity. The story follows a group of airline passengers who discover that one of their fellow travelers is infected with the virus, putting their lives at risk. One of the new characters who survives the zombie encounter will join the cast of “Fear” in season two, which will continue to explore what happened to humanity in the weeks before Rick Grimes woke from his coma in the first episode of “The Walking Dead.”
“Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462” is written by L. Signorino and Mike Zunic and directed by “Fear” director of photography Michael McDonough. “Fear” showrunner and executive producer Dave Erickson and co-exec producer David Wiener serve as EPs.
“Fear the Walking Dead” will return for Season 2 with 15 new episodes in 2016.
