Esquire Network Adds Burgers, More Bulls to Summer Lineup

Esquire Network is adding two series to its summer lineup of programming, which includes live coverage of the Running of the Bulls from Pamplona, Spain, encores of NBC hit “American Ninja Warrior” as well as a third season of “Knife Fight.”

The NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment network announced Wednesday that two new original series will premiere this summer: docu-series “The Agent” and competition series “The Next Great Burger.” They will bow on back-to-back nights in late July.

“Agent,” billed as something of a “real life ‘Jerry Maguire,'” follows four top sports agents (Jeff Guerriero, Peter Schaffer, Sunny Shah and Ed Wasielewski) as they navigate the cutthroat world of professional football. The series will provide an inside look at America’s biggest sports obsession and deliver exclusive access that will show viewers the money. It bows Tuesday, July 21, at 10 p.m., just in time for the start of NFL training camps.

Airing in the 10 p.m. hour starting Wednesday, July 22, is “The Next Great Burger.” A new generation of backyard BBQ kings are looking to take burgers to a whole new level, and that means a bigger, better, more adventurous experience that dares the taste buds. In this six-part competition series, ingenuity is on full display as up-and-coming culinary hopefuls have a shot to showcase their perfected version of one of the nation’s greatest obsessions.

Returning series include “American Ninja Warrior,” back for a seventh season on the network. Encores of the previous night’s firstrun episode on NBC will air Tuesdays at 8 on Esquire. It will be followed at 10 p.m. by the third season of “Knife Fight” (pictured), which will feature 16 chefs from the New York area. The lineup kicked off this week.

“Car Matchmaker” roars into its second season on Wednesday, June 24, at 9 p.m. with a lineup featuring Rolling Stones bassist Darryl Jones, Los Angeles Clippers player Matt Barnes and car racing enthusiast Patrick Dempsey of “Grey’s Anatomy” fame.

And Esquire viewers can again catch live coverage of the Running of the Bulls, which will feature guest hosts on the ground in Pamplona. Michael Davies and Roger Bennett, the irreverent British expats who make up the duo “Men in Blazers,” will be presenting eight broadcast events beginning July 7. Live telecasts will air at 2 a.m. ET and then be shown the next night at 11.
