Fox will air the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards live from Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 20, the network and Television Academy announced Wednesday. This signals a move back to Sunday night after last year’s ceremony (broadcast by NBC) bucked tradition and aired on a Monday in August to avoid a conflict with Sunday Night Football and the MTV Video Music Awards. The ceremony rotates between the four major broadcast nets. NBC is the only network to schedule its telecast for late August, as opposed to its regular berth on the third weekend of September, which is considered the start of the new television season.
The 2015 Emmys will air at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, and will be held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Downtown Los Angeles.
The Emmy Awards recognize excellence within various areas of television and emerging media, and are voted for by the Television Academy’s 17,500-plus voting members. Hosts and producers for the kudocast have yet to be announced.
The Creative Arts Emmy Awards will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12 and will air on FXX on a date to be announced.
