Britton will play Faye Resnick in the upcoming FX miniseries, which also stars John Travolta as Robert Shapiro; David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian; Courtney Vance as Johnnie Cochran; Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark; and Cuba Gooding Jr. as Simpson.

Britton recently commented that she would “love” to return to Murphy’s “American Horror Story” franchise (she headlined its first season) if the scheduling worked out — but will make a more grounded reappearance in the new 10-episode true crime series, which is based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book “The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson.” The miniseries is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.

Executive producers include Murphy and his “American Horror Story” partner Brad Falchuk, along with screenwriters Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (who have penned the first two episodes), Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson and Dante Di Loreto.
