Comedy Central has renewed “The Meltdown With Jonah and Kumail” for an eight-episode second season, the Viacom-owned cable network said Tuesday.
The standup comedy showcase is shot documentary style in the back of Los Angeles comic-book store Meltdown Comics. The first season featured performances by Eric Andre, Maria Bamford, Jim Gaffigan, Garfunkel and Oates and Nick Offerman, among others.
The series features intimate and hilarious backstage moments with comedians and celebrities who stop by just to hang out in the green room. Toni Magon and Ryan Moran are the executives in charge for Comedy Central.
