Bounce TV, a multicast digital channel that targets African-American viewers, will add a new original sitcom, “In the Cut,” to its lineup as of Aug. 25.

The show, created by Bentley Kyle Evans, and centers around Jay Weaver (Dorien Wilson) who runs several businesses in a San Diego strip mall including a salon he co-owns with his ex-wife played by Jackee Harry. A man played by Ken Lawson claims to be Weaver’s 31-year-old illegitimate son, and proceeds to incorporate himself into the family business.

John Marshall Jones rounds out the regular cast as Weaver’s comedic sidekick. “In The Cut” also features guest stars Vanessa Bell Calloway, Golden Brooks and Chastity Dotson.

“In the Cut” has a six-episode order.

The series is produced by Evans and Trenton Gumbs, who also co-produce another Bounce TV original comedy, “Family Time.”
