Bob Saget Rounds Out ‘Fuller House’ Cast

Danny Tanner is back for more “Full House.”

Bob Saget, who played the patriarch in the original ABC series, is returning to Netflix’s “Fuller House.”

John Stamos, who played “Uncle” Jesse Katsopolis in the first version and will guest star and serve as a producer in the follow-up, Tweeted the news Thursday.

“Last but not least-best piece of casting yet,” he wrote. “The great @bobsaget will be joining our show on @netfilx – this completes the perfect reunon!” (Stamos later apologized for his typo, saying it’d been a long day and joked “you want perfect spelling- follow Oprah”).

Saget confirmed his return by retweeting Stamos with a reference to the former’s character.

“How did you get this information? Kidding! Love you Jesse!,” he wrote.

The series is said to concentrate on Candace Cameron Bure’s character D.J. The eldest of the three daughters in the original series, D.J. now finds herself widowed and in need of help when it comes to raising her kids.

Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen, who together played youngest daughter Michelle on the original series, recently announced that they will not be returning to the series and will instead concentrate on current projects that include overseeing several fashion labels. However, “Full House” cast members Dave Coulier, Andrea Barber, Jodie Sweetin and Lori Loughlin have all said they would be back for the sequel.

Fuller House” is from Miller-Boyett Productions and Jeff Franklin Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television for Netflix. Boyett, Thomas L. Miller and Jeff Franklin are exec producing the series, which was created by Franklin.
