Casting Roundup: Betty White Guests on ‘Bones,’ ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Adds Mary Lynn Rajskub

Brooklyn Nine-Nine” investigates a “24” alum, a game show goddess shows off her smarts on “Bones,” and “Scandal” is addicted to a star of “The Strain” in today’s casting roundup …

“24’s” Mary Lynn Rajskub will guest star in a fall episode of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” as an art gallery owner and infatuation of Joe Lo Truglio’s Charles. Fox’s fall premiere of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” comes Sept. 27 and includes a guest appearance by Bill Hader as the precinct’s new captain. [release]

Betty White will put that big brain of Dr. Brennan (Emily Deschanel) to the test in this season of “Bones.” In an episode scheduled to air in October, White will play a “sharp as a tack, absolutely fabulous ‘squintern'” with a deep knowledge of fantasy football — a subject that just happens to be related to the crime in question. “Bones” comes back to Fox on Oct. 1, and, as TV Line reported earlier this week, brings with it the return of co-star David Boreanaz. [release]

ABC’s “Scandal” has added “The Strain’s” Mia Maestro  for season 5. Predictably for the highly successful and highly secretive show, character details and the number of episodes in which she will appear were not available. “Scandal” returns Sept. 24. [Deadline]
