When she’s not scheming or running for president on ABC’s “Scandal,” Bellamy Young is apparently studying up on her classic literature.

The actress was crowned a “Jeopardy” champion on Thursday’s celebrity edition, collecting $50,000 for Operation Blankets of Love, an animal welfare charitable organization.

Young pulled out ahead of her competitors by sweeping the literature category, eventually going on to win the competition. “Good Morning America” chief meteorologist Ginger Zee placed second, and comedian Josh Gad finished finished third, each winning $10,000 for their charities, Susan G. Komen West Michigan and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, respectively.

Young’s victory precedes the season-four finale of “Scandal,” which airs Thursday night at 9 p.m. on ABC.
