It was a solid bet that Marty McFly and Doc Brown’s visit to “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last week would trigger some big numbers.
The characters — played by Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd — journeyed to Oct. 21 episode of ABC’s late-night program and the event has now been viewed close to 14.3 million times on the show’s YouTube channel. It currently holds the title as the second most-viewed clip on the page, behind March’s “Mean Tweets” video starring President Obama.
The skit was also fortuitous, as Kimmel jokingly told the characters that more people will probably see them in this format anyway.
“People are watching us on TV right now, although honestly most people will probably watch us on their phone on the toilet tomorrow,” Kimmel says.
The video was also wildly popular on the show’s Facebook page. The segment generated nearly 22 million video views as well as 7.7 million likes, comments and shares on the social site alone.
