Casting Roundup: ‘Arrow’ Casts Baron Blitzkrieg, ‘Sleepy Hollow’ Adds Shannyn Sossamon, Hope Davis Joins ‘American Crime’

The CW’s “Arrow” has tapped British actor Jimmy Akingbola as villain Baron Reiter (better known in the DC Comics world as Baron Blitzkrieg, leader of the criminal group Shadowspire). He’ll appear in a recurring capacity as an adversary for Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) in the show’s ongoing flashback scenes. According to Deadline, “This grizzled, hardened and commanding man, who has no conscience and few compunctions, offers Oliver a job in his underground organization” in season four.

Shannyn Sossamon will play the series regular role of the “mysterious” Pandora in season three of Fox’s “Sleepy Hollow,” seeking help from Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie). Chances are that character description is more about her hidden secrets than her music choices. [TV Line]

Hope Davis has been cast in seven episodes of the second season of John Ridley’s TV miniseries “American Crime.” While character details weren’t available, Variety does know that the second season of the ABC series will be set in the Midwest and take a look at the goings on at both a public and a private high school. Season one actors — and Emmy nominees — Timothy Hutton and Felicity Huffman are returning and will play teachers at the private school. [The Wrap]
