Amy Schumer is on a roll.

With her Comedy Central show “Inside Amy Schumer” buzzing up the Internet — thanks to those wickedly razor-sharp sketches — the comedian has just booked her first HBO comedy special, and tapped Chris Rock to direct it, Variety has learned.

“Amy is one of the most inspired comics working today, and we hope her first HBO special marks the start of a long and beautiful relationship,” said HBO programming president Michael Lombardo, who made the announcement. “This event is even more special because our good friend, the incredibly talented Chris Rock, is directing.”

The special will tape May 29 at the Apollo Theater in New York and will air later this year. Schumer is writing it and will exec produce along with Mike Berkowitz and Jimmy Miller.

Schumer’s credits also include the HBO comedies “Girls” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” She will soon be seen in the Judd Apatow film “Trainwreck,” which she wrote. “Inside Amy Schumer” was recently renewed for a fourth season.
