Drea de Matteo has joined “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” for a villainous guest role, Marvel announced Thursday.

The “Sopranos” and “Sons of Anarchy” alum will play Karla Faye Gideon, a Gifted woman with a grudge to bear against SHIELD who joins forces with Skye’s father, Cal (Kyle MacLachlan). In Marvel comics canon, Karla Faye Gideon was a regular human who came into contact with Daredevil’s alter-ego Matt Murdock after her son was murdered.

“We’re thrilled to have Drea join us as yet another great villain to challenge our cast,” said Jeph Loeb, exec producer and Marvel’s Head of Television. “We relished the opportunity to work with her in such a menacing role.”

The actress joins previously announced guest stars Luke Mitchell, who will play an Inhuman named Lincoln who will help Skye (Chloe Bennet) come to terms with her transformation, and Edward James Olmos, who plays Robert Gonzales, a mysterious new character whose debut will have “massive repercussions for Director Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team,” according to Marvel.

“SHIELD” returns to ABC with all-new episodes on Tuesday, March 3 at 9 p.m.
