Watch: ‘Agent Carter’ Hits Hollywood in Season 2 Teaser

Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter is trading the mean streets of New York for the bright lights of Los Angeles in season two of “Marvel’s Agent Carter,” and ABC has released the first teaser trailer for the midseason spy series.

While the specific threats that Peggy must face in the new season are being kept under wraps for the time being (this is Marvel, after all), the promo showcases Peggy’s trademark combination of dry British wit and ass-kicking skills, in addition to hinting at a new romance with Reggie Austin’s Jason Wilkes, a quirky but charming scientist.

Other new cast additions for season two include Kurtwood Smith as Vernon Masters, a veteran of the War Department; Wynn Everett as Whitney Frost, a brilliant inventor and actress; Currie Graham as Whitney’s high-powered businessman husband Calvin Chadwick; and Lotte Verbeek as Ana Jarvis. As Variety exclusively revealed, Ken Marino will recur as volatile mob boss Joseph Manfredi.

Returning for season two alongside Atwell are James D’Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, Enver Gjokaj as Chief Daniel Sousa, Chad Michael Murray as Chief Jack Thompson, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark and Bridget Regan as Dottie Underwood.

The series is executive produced by Tara Butters, Michele Fazekas, Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely, Chris Dingess, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Joe Quesada, Stan Lee and Jeph Loeb. “Marvel’s Agent Carter” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.

“Agent Carter” Season 2 premieres with a two-hour episode on Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
