A&E Network has recruited TLC alum Amy Savitsky to serve as senior VP of development and programming, focusing on unscripted series.

Savitsky will be based in New York and report to Elaine Frontain Bryant, exec VP and head of programming for the cabler.

“Amy joins A&E with a proven track record of developing long-running franchises that engage viewers,” said Frontain Bryant. “With her experience developing buzzy factual content, Amy is the perfect fit for the A&E brand.”

Savitsky spent the past decade with Discovery Communications, most recently serving as senior VP of development for TLC. Among the series she shepherded for TLC were “Breaking Amish” and “My 600 LB Life.” Before TLC she worked for Discovery Channel and Discovery Health.

Savitsky will work alongside Shelly Tatro, who is also senior VP of development and programming, reporting to Frontain Bryant.
