Syfy’s “12 Monkeys” has added “Homeland’s” David Marciano and “Ant-Man” star David Dastmalchian for guest roles in season two, Variety has learned exclusively.

The pair will debut in episode six of the sci-fi thriller’s second season, in scenes set in 1975. Marciano will play NYPD detective John Damato, who is pulled into the case of a serial killer who has a dangerous affiliation with the Army of the 12 Monkeys, an organization behind the death of 7 billion people in the present day. Damato teams up with heroes Cole (Aaron Stanford) and Ramse (Kirk Acevedo) as they travel back in time to track the killer and find out what he knows.

Dastmalchian will appear as Kyle Slade, a Vietnam vet whose mind is connected to time in a unique way. Slade is pursued not only by the 12 Monkeys, but by Cole and Ramse, since he may be the key to putting an end to a conspiracy that spans centuries.

Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett serve as executive producers and showrunners on “12 Monkeys,” with Charles Roven and Richard Suckle executive producing. “12 Monkeys” is produced by Universal Cable Productions in association with Atlas Entertainment, who produced Terry Gilliam’s original theatrical film of the same name.

Marciano is repped by TCA/Jed Root and LINK, and Dastmalchian is repped by Paradigm.

Season two of “12 Monkeys” will premiere on Syfy in 2016.
