PARIS– French media company AB International Distribution is set to launch sales of “Seven And Me,” Gaul’s first sitcom series weaving CGI 3D animation and live action, at MIPCOM.
Commissioned by French pubcaster France Televisions, “Seven And Me” is produced by Aton Soumache’s Method Animation, the Paris-based company whose credits include “The Little Prince” and “Iron Man: Armored Adventures,” among other popular series. Method Animation is part of ON Entertainment, which is the company headed by Soumache and Dimitri Rassam that produced Mark Osborne’s “The Little Prince” and is about to start production on “Playmobil.”
A contemporary twist on the classic fairy tale “Snow White,” “Seven And Me” boast a hybrid visual style similar to the “Alvin and the Chipmunks” or “The Smurfs,” “Seven And Me” primarily targets children from 6 to 10, and could possibly reach teen audiences thanks to the live action segments.
AB Group is co-producing with India’s DQ, Belgium’s Nexus/OUFTIVI (RTBF°, Italy’s Ra, Germany’s ZDF and the Middle East’s Al Jazeera. UMedia in Belgium co-financed the series.
The series has two directors: Luc Chalifour handles live action, while Tarik Hamdine is helping the animation.
AB Group will be hosting a studio-style launch party on the eve of MIPCOM in Cannes.
Delivery is expected for the first semester of 2016.
