Michele Buck to Reign at ‘White Queen’ Producer Company Pictures

LONDON — Michele Buck has been appointed as CEO of All3Media’s Company Pictures, whose credits include the U.K. version of “Shameless” and Starz’s “The White Queen.” All3Media is owned jointly by Discovery Communications and Liberty Global.

Buck recently stepped down as joint managing director of production company Mammoth Screen, which she co-founded with Damien Timmer in 2007. Mammoth’s dramas included “Parade’s End,” “Endeavour” and the recent BBC revival of “Poldark.” Prior to this, Buck held the role of controller of drama at United Productions and ITV, where she was responsible for drama “Sex Traffic,” Emmy winning “Hornblower” and “Lewis.” Buck will assume her new role on July 1.

Jane Turton, CEO of All3Media, said: “Michele’s expertise, experience and passion for drama and her relationships and reputation in the U.K., U.S. and around the world are a hugely exciting addition to Company Pictures as she leads the business to further creative and commercial success.”

Buck added: “I will relish the challenge of leading Company Pictures into its next phase and growing its already distinctive drama portfolio. I’ll be looking to build upon the existing Company reputation by seeking to attract new talent and great new projects to take the company onwards and upwards.”

Its shows include “Elizabeth I,” winner of three Golden Globes, youth drama “Skins,” “Wild at Heart,” “George Gently” and “The Village,” which sold to 180 territories globally.
