LONDON — John Malone’s international cable company Liberty Global has extended its pan-European carriage deal with A+E Networks.

The deal covers A+E Networks’ U.K. channels on Liberty Global platforms in the U.K., Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. A+E Networks’ channels Lifetime and H2 will be also now be available in HD in both the U.K. and Ireland for the first time.

Under the terms of the deal, all current A+E Networks’ U.K. channels remain on their existing Liberty Global platforms, which reach 15.5 million subscribers. Newly-agreed terms include broader distribution for factual entertainment channel History, which has been added to all basic packages in the Netherlands, Hungary and Romania, adding almost three million subscribers.

The new deal also includes new non-linear rights, giving Liberty Global customers greater access to A+E Networks channels and content across all platforms and connected devices.
