The Alliance for Children’s Rights will honor Fox’s Gary Newman and Dana Walden with the National Champion for Children Award, the organization announced Tuesday.
The award, which will be presented at the organization’s annual dinner on March 10, 2016 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, is in recognition of the duo’s work in improving the lives of at-risk children, fighting poverty and strengthening access to healthcare.
Newman is a member of the Los Angeles Board of Governors of the Paley Center for Media and serves on the boards of the Hollywood Radio & Television Society, Chrysalis and UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center Foundation. Walden also serves as a board member of UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center Foundation, in addition to the Los Angeles Zoo and Saban Free Clinic.
The Alliance for Children’s Rights is Los Angeles’ preeminent free legal services organization dedicated to protecting the rights of abused and neglected children and foster youth.
