Rapper Rick Ross, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II, was arrested in Fayette County, Ga., and charged with kidnapping, aggravated battery and aggravated assault on Wednesday morning for an incident on June 7.
According to TMZ, the charges stem from an altercation between Ross and a man doing work at his home when Ross would reportedly not allow the man to leave.
“Members of the U.S. Marshals Southeastern Regional Task Force executed arrest warrants on William Roberts and Nadrian James,” says a release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. “They were arrested in Fayetteville, Ga., without incident as a result of this investigation.”
James, Ross’ bodyguard, faces kidnapping and aggravated battery charges.
A U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task force and deputies detained the duo from Ross’ mansion in Fayetteville, south of Atlanta.
According to TMZ, Ross forced his groundskeeper into the bedroom of his guesthouse at gunpoint, interrogated him, then hit him with a pistol twice.
Ross was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor possession of marijuana in Fayette County earlier this month.
