The Tribeca Film Festival will open a downtown hub for its 2015 edition in an effort to give filmmakers and festgoers a central spot for events and elbow-rubbing.

With screenings spread all over town — this year from 23rd Street all the way down to the Battery — Tribeca organizers have long lamented the lack of a single, central place for participants to gather. This year the event will take up residence at the 150,00-square-foot Spring Studios, located in the festival’s titular Tribeca neighborhood, to consolidate the locations of some of the festival’s non-screening events and give industry, press and other fest attendees a place to hang out.

The Tribeca Talks series, some cross-platform programming and the TFI Innovation Week conference are among the festival offerings to be presented in the space.

Also this year the festival will expand screenings to the Regal Cinemas Battery Park Stadium 11, not far from Ground Zero, as well as offer new Resident Passes to allow access to the hub for locals.

The 2015 Tribeca Film Festival runs April 15-26.
