Mamie Gummer will topline Roundabout Theatre Company’s premiere of “Ugly Lies the Bone,” part of its 50th anniversary season.
Lindsey Ferrentino’s play, directed by Patricia McGregor, also stars Karron Graves, Caitlin O’Connell, Chris Stack and Haynes Thigpen.
The Off Broadway production is partnering with DeepStream VR on the play in which Gummer’s character is an Afghanistan war vet who overcomes her wounds with game therapy. The audience can experience the technology used on the protag with DeepStream.
“Ugly Lies the Bone” starts previews Sept. 10 and opens Oct. 13 at the Black Box Theatre.
Also Thursday producers of “The Bridges of Madison County,” based on the Broadway musical, tapped Elizabeth Stanley and Andrew Samonsky as the leads. The tuner starts its tour Nov. 28 in Des Moines, Iowa, and runs across North America in 15 additional major markets. Bartlett Sher directs the production, with music by Jason Robert Brown.
