Bradley Cooper will star in “The Elephant Man” in London this summer, following the current Broadway run that’s struck box office gold.

Alessandro Nivola and Patricia Clarkson, his co-stars in the Broadway staging, and the rest of the U.S. cast will reprise their roles in the London outing.

Cooper, currently up for an Academy Award for his performance in “American Sniper,” plays the title character in “Elephant Man,” contorting his body to approximate the man’s physical condition and using no prosthetics. The show earned strong reviews from New York critics and has established Cooper as one of Broadway’s big-name draws.

Cooper had said previously that he’d hoped to do the show on the West End.

In London, the show runs May 19-Aug. 8 at the Royal Haymarket. The Broadway production will close Feb. 21 — a day earlier than planned, to allow Cooper to make the Oscar ceremony Feb. 22.
