Amanda Seyfried Replaces Tatiana Maslany in Neil LaBute’s Off Broadway Play

Amanda Seyfried will make her Off Broadway debut in Neil LaBute’s “The Way We Get By,” filling a role that the previously announced Tatiana Maslany has had to depart due to filming commitments.

Seyfried (“Ted 2,” “Pan,” “Les Miserables”) will star opposite Thomas Sadoski (“The Newsroom”) in the show, a two-hander about a couple of sexual predators on the morning after they hook up at a wedding reception. Leigh Silverman (“Violet”) directs.

Maslany, a fan favorite for her work on BBC America’s sci-fi series “Orphan Black” and also one of the actresses said to be testing for the new “Star Wars,” departs the Off Broadway production for an unspecified commitment — which could lead to speculation that she got the part in “Star Wars.”

“The Way We Get By” begins previews April 28 ahead of a May 20 opening at Second Stage Theater, currently presenting a limited return run of Stephen Adly Guirgis’ “Between Riverside and Crazy.”
