The Weinstein Co. has promoted six-year veteran Ennis Hensley to be president of international sales and distribution.

“While my brother Bob and I come from New York and have always based our companies here, having a strong presence on the global film and television scene is immeasurably important to us,” said Harvey Weinstein. “It’s a pleasure to be making Ennis the face of our international team.”

TWC made the announcement on the opening day of the Cannes Film Festival, where Hensley will continue working on all international film sales of both TWC and Dimension titles. He will look to develop new business opportunities and maintain existing strategic alliances with independent distributors, along with representing TWC at all major international film markets, tradeshows and festivals.

Hensley was hired in 2009 as VP of distribution and finance. He’s overseen international sales and distribution for TWC, Dimension Films and specialty arm Radius, including “The Hateful Eight,” “August: Osage County,” “Southpaw,” “The Artist” and “Silver Linings Playbook.”

Hensley worked at the Yari Film Group from 2007-09.
