‘Vikings’ Actor Clive Standen Joins Thriller ‘Patient Zero’

Clive Standen has joined the cast of the Screen Gems thriller “Patient Zero.”

Natalie Dormer, Stanley Tucci and Matt Smith had already been slotted for the film.

Stefan Ruzowitzky is directing the Mike Le-scripted action thriller. Vincent Newman is producing.

“Patient Zero” follows an unprecedented global pandemic of a super-strain of rabies that has resulted in the evolution of a new species driven by violence. An inexplicably immune human survivor with the ability to communicate with this new species must spearhead a hunt for Patient Zero in order to find a cure to save his infected wife and humanity.

Standen will play Sargent Knox, a rough-around-the-edges military leader who is trying his hardest to control the uncontrollable situation.

Production is under way.

Standen can currently be seen on History Channel’s “Vikings,” which has just returned for its third season. On the film side, he will be seen in Working Title’s “Everest,” starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, John Hawkes and Josh Brolin, with “2 Guns” helmer Baltasar Kormakur directing.

Standen is repped by repped by Management 360, Gersh and Independent Talent Group.
