Tracy Morgan is returning to acting 14 months after the tragic car accident that left his friend and comedian, James McNair, dead.
Jillian Bell and “Breaking Bad’s” Dean Norris round out the cast for the film, which Richie Keen is directing.
The film follows two teachers (Cube and Day) who work in a broken-down school system and wind up in a fist fight with each other. The script was written by Evan Susser and Van Robichaux. Morgan will play a coach at the high school.
Shawn Levy is producing with Max Greenfield and John Rickard, while Day is executive producing with Dan Cohen, Marty Ewing and Billy Rosenberg. Production starts this month in Atlanta.
Morgan, who best known for his role on NBC’s “30 Rock,” last appeared on screen opposite Chris Rock in Paramount’s “Top Five.” This also marks the third time Cube and Morgan have worked together after “First Sunday” and the 2005 comedy “Are We There Yet?” He is repped by CAA.
