Blumhouse’s Jason Blum will produce with Roads Entertainment’s Alan Maher along with Foy through his Shadow Aspect banner. The story centers on a troubled young woman who has to deal with her tragic past on a remote island.
“Shee” is an Irish term for a supernatural race in Irish mythology that lives underground or in an invisible world.
Foy’s debut feature “Citadel” debuted at SXSW in 2012 and won the festival’s Midnighters Audience Award. That led to directing Blumhouse’s supernatural horror sequel “Sinister 2,” which opens Friday in wide release through Gramercy with Foy directing from a script by Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill. James Ransone and Shannyn Sossamon star.
The original “Sinister,” which had a $3 million budget, was a major hit with $88 million in worldwide grosses.
Foy is represented by UTA, Management 360 and Ziffren Brittenham. The news was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.
