Ben Lustig and Jake Thornton penned the spec, and a source close to the sale says the studio is also in talks with Bryan Singer to produce as well.
Plot details are being kept under wraps.
If a deal closes on Singer’s end, he will produce through his Bad Hat Harry Productions along with producing partner Jason Taylor, and Lazar will produce through his Mad Chance shingle.
Ange Gianetti will oversee the project for the studio.
The studio seems to have a liking for Lustig and Thornton after paying in the seven-figure range for their spec “Winter’s Knight,” which is a Viking mythology-tinged origin story about St. Nick and Christmas. The two scribes also penned the “The Wells Initiative” for the studio. They are repped by Circle of Confusion, WME and Ziffren Brittenham.
Singer, who is repped by WME and Bloom Hergott, is currently in post-production on “X-Men: Apocalypse” for Fox. Mad Chance is repped by CAA.
Deadline Hollywood was the first to report the news.
