The cast includes Jamie Blackley, Joaquin Phoenix, Parker Posey and Emma Stone. The film, shot in Rhode Island with roles for academics and students, marks the eighth collaboration between Allen and Sony Classics.
Producers are Letty Aronson, Stephen Tenenbaum and Edward Walson.
“Sony Classics and I have a good working relationship. I like the way they handle my movies, very special, very classy and I always hope my films live up to their expectations,” Allen said in a statement.
Sony Classics did not disclose the release date. It has handled distribution in the U.S. on Allen’s last seven films, dating back to “Whatever Works.”
Allen began shooting the movie in July in Rhode Island with the movie described as a “contemporary story” with academics, graduate students and middle and working-class characters.
