Scott Waugh will be directing the action thriller “Blackout.”

The film, written by Sidney King with revisions by Brooks McLaren, follows a cop who’s tasked with transporting a mysterious and dangerous criminal across town. He’s put to the ultimate test when a city-wide blackout plunges them into chaos.

Sierra/Affinity is both financing and producing “Blackout,” while Broken Road’s Todd Garner and Jeremy Stein will produce. McLaren is co-producing, and Sierra/Affinity’s Nick Meyer and Marc Schaberg are executive producing.

Kelly McCormick, Sierra/Affinity’s exec VP of production and development, is overseeing the production for the company.

Waugh’s past credits include “Need for Speed” and “Act of Valor.” He is repped by WME, who is overseeing the rights.

King is represented by UTA and Industry Entertainment. McLaren is represented by Verve Talent, Literary Agency and manager George Heller.
