Rogers & Cowan Promotes Alan Nierob, Fran Curtis to Co-Presidents

Rogers & Cowan has promoted veteran executives Alan Nierob and Fran Curtis to co-presidents of entertainment worldwide.

The PR company has also named Richard Davis as chief operating officer and CFO.

This marks the first time the company has had an executive in the president role since co-founder Warren Cowan was named to the post in 1950. Cowan left the company in 1992.

“Alan and Fran are essential parts of the Rogers & Cowan family, and have always put forth an unparalleled level of energy and expertise in all areas of our business on behalf of our clients and our company,” Chairman Paul Bloch said in a statement. “Coupled with Rich’s operational and financial acumen, we feel that we have an executive leadership team in place which will allow Rogers & Cowan to build on our longstanding position in the industry as the premiere entertainment public relations firm, and continue to provide our clients with innovative, forward thinking ideas and services.”

Nierob started his career at Rogers & Cowan as an intern and rose to the position of executive VP. His current clients include Chris Pratt, Denzel Washington, John Boyega, Mel Gibson, Liam Neeson and Robert Downey, Jr.

Nierob has also spearheaded awards campaigns for the Oscars, Emmys and Golden Globes for his clients and their projects.  In addition, Nierob has represented books authored by celebrities and developed marketing strategies for celebrity-supported sponsorships.

Curtis has provided strategic counsel to music performers and led worldwide public relations efforts for numerous world tours and albums, as well as television and documentary releases. She has also developed and executed public relations campaigns for major brands. Curtis’ clients include the Rolling Stones, Elton John, Andrea Bocelli and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Davis has been Western region CFO at CMG, where he has overseen the financial affairs for some of its holdings, including Rogers & Cowan, Dailey, Weber Shandwick (Western Region), Current, and the Axis Agency. In his new role as COO, Davis will focus primarily on Rogers & Cowan and Dailey.
