“Oldboy” actress Pom Klementieff is in talks to join Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” sources tell Variety.

Klementieff joins Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and David Bautista, who are all expected to come back with James Gunn returning to helm the pic.

Kevin Feige is producing with Gunn also writing the latest draft. The movie is set to bow on May 5, 2017.

Insiders say that Klementieff seemed to have an edge with execs and Gunn since the studio started testing women for the unknown role. Marvel and Gunn wanted Matthew McConaughey to play the villain in the superhero sequel, but the actor recently passed, leaving the search for that part still in progress. Sources say that decision should be made in the coming weeks, as production is expected to begin in early 2016.

Klementieff is best known for playing the henchman to Sharlto Copley’s antagonist in Spike Lee’s “Oldboy” remake. She is repped by Untitled Entertainment.
