Patrick Renna’s Comedy ‘Bad Roomies’ Bought by The Orchard

Eastside Films’ dark comedy “Bad Roomies” starring Patrick Renna, Tommy Savas and Annie Monroe, has been acquired by The Orchard for worldwide distribution. Variety has learned exclusively.

The film is slated to be released digitally and on VOD on Dec. 1.

Renna, best known for starring in 1993’s “The Sandlot,” also produced with Savas in their first producing gig.

Jason Schnell directed Justin Mooney’s script about two guys living together who, after losing their roommate, put an ad out to find a new one. After a series of disastrous interviews with potential roommates, they settle on an apparently harmless but beautiful girl. All seems to be going well despite the simmering rivalry until one drunken night causes all three roommates to make a horrible mistake that starts them on a downward spiral.

Schnell has credits on “The Online Gamer,” “Pscyho Girlfriend,” “Extra Butter Please” and “The Clan.”
