Anna Kendrick Joins Zac Efron in Comedy ‘Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates’

Anna Kendrick is set to join Zac Efron and Adam DeVine in the 20th Century Fox comedy “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.”

Jake Szymanski is on board to direct, with Chernin Entertainment producing along with Jonathan Levine. Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien penned the script, the story of two brothers who place an online ad to find dates for a wedding and the ad goes viral.

Daria Cercek is overseeing the project for Fox.

Kendrick is currently filming “The Accountant” opposite Ben Affleck in Atlanta.

Kendrick’s resume is quite diverse, with films ranging from comedies to thrillers like “The Accountant.” She’s also showcased her singing talents in Disney’s “Into the Woods,” Fox Searchlight’s “The Last Five Years” and Universal’s “Pitch Perfect 2,” which bows in May.

She is repped by CAA.
