Michelle Williams is set to join Matthew McConaughey and Edgar Ramirez in the Weinstein Co. mining drama “Gold.”

Williams plays McConaughey’s wife in the Stephen Gaghan-directed pic, which Teddy Schwarzman’s Black Bear Pictures is fully financing.

The film is inspired by true events, but isn’t the actual story of the 1993 Bre-X Minerals mining scandal, in which vast amounts of gold were reportedly discovered in the Indonesian jungle.

The film, written by Patrick Massett and John Zinman, is set to start shooting in June in New York, New Mexico and Thailand.

Producers are Schwarzman (“The Imitation Game”), Michael Nozik through his Hwy61 banner, Massett, Zinman and McConaughey. Paul Haggis will exec produce alongside Richard Middleton.

Williams recently finished filming “Manchester By the Sea” opposite Casey Affleck, as well as the untitled Kelly Reichardt film. She is repped by WME, Brillstein Entertainment, and Bloom Hergott Diemer Rosenthal LaViolette Feldman Schenkman & Goodman.
