Beachside Films and Gilbert Films have partnered on the coming-of-age dramedy “Miss Stevens,” starring Lily Rabe, Timothee Chalamet, Lili Reinhart and Anthony Quintal.
The film marks Julia Hart’s directorial debut, from a script co-written by Hart and Jordan Horowitz. She previously wrote the Blacklist screenplay for the upcoming Drafthouse film “The Keeping Room,” starring Brit Marling, Hailee Steinfeld and Sam Worthington, and is currently writing the HBO series “Madame X” for Anna Paquin and Jack Black.
Alex Turtletaub and Michael B. Clark will produce for Beachside, with Horowitz and Gary Gilbert producing for Gilbert Films in association with Hart’s production company Original Headquarters. Beachside is financing the pic.
Rabe portrays a high school teacher who chaperones three of her kids (Chalamet, Reinhart and Quintal) on a weekend field trip to a regional drama competition — where nothing turns out as expected.
Beachside produced “People, Places and Things” and the documentary “Tig,” which both debuted at Sundance.
Rabe is represented by ICM; Chalamet is represented by UTA; Reinhart is repped by Anonymous Content; and Quintal and Hart are repped by WME.
