Katt Williams Joins Ed Helms-Owen Wilson Comedy ‘Bastards’

Stand-up comedian Katt Williams is joining Ed Helms, Owen Wilson, J.K. Simmons and Terry Bradshaw in Alcon Entertainment’s comedy “Bastards.”

Bastards” marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Larry Sher (the “Hangover” films). Principal photography is set to start in Atlanta and Miami in September, with Warner Bros. releasing the film through Alcon’s output deal.

Simmons and former pro football player Bradshaw, who will play himself, are potential father figures to Wilson and Helms’ characters — who are brothers whose eccentric mother raised them to believe their father died when they were young. When they discover this to be a lie, they set out to find their real father.

Ving Rhames joined the cast recently as a former teammate of Bradshaw’s.

In addition to his comedy specials, Williams has credits in “Scary Movie 5” and “Norbit.” He made the announcement Friday on his Twitter account.
