It’s a sad day for fans of Jesse Eisenberg’s famous curls.

Entertainment Weekly released the first photo of Eisenberg’s bald head as the actor gets into character to play villain Lex Luthor for Zack Snyder’s “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

The stark black-and-white image of a shaved-head Eisenberg as Lex Luthor lays to rest any rumblings of the actor’s inability to play a villain.

“He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure, other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course,” Snyder told EW.

The character Lex Luthor is usually thought to be bald. Gene Hackman famously wore wigs to conceal the character’s chrome dome when he played a rather vain Lex Luther in the 1970s and 1980s films. Kevin Spacey’s Lex Luthor was bald in 2006’s “Superman Returns,” although the character relied on wigs for disguises.

“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” will bow in theaters March 25, 2016.
